Launching PlayStation 5 During Covid-19 Pandemic, A Good Decision?

After a lifetime of hating Sony's DualShock controllers, the PS5 ...

Sony's new console is on its way. They have a tendency of launching new consoles after every 6-7 years.

If we compare PlayStation, PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3; they have 6 years of difference in their launch dates.

But if we talk about PlayStation 4, it came in 2013 right after 7 years of PS3 being launched and so the upcoming PlayStation 5 might hit the markets in late 2020 right after 7 years of PS4 being launched.

The most important factor is why Sony wants to launch PlayStation 5 this year during the Pandemic Covid-19 all around the globe and knowing the outcome.

The economic crises have risen at the highest peak in the world, even if they're planning to launch limited pieces, will their new console be able to sell pretty well? ~ My thought!

However PlayStation 4 Pro which was originally launched in 2016 can still survive a year or two.

If developers are finding hard time to develop games on PlayStation 4 because of old hardware, they should focus more on Pro.

Looking at current example, Last Of Us Part II which is an upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive developed by Naughty Dogs and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment had a release date of  February 21, 2020 is now pushed to May 29, 2020 due to Covid-19.

Current sales of PlayStation 4 are pretty decent. Also, game sales are in great figure too which is 274m as of 2019.

Sony is just rushing things which might affect them in future. In my opinion, they should focus on current platform and save the best for later after this Pandemic ends for optimum results.
