Basic Fashion Sense

What is Fashion? Is Following a Trend Important?

Fashion is something that polishes the personality. Having fashion sense and following the trends that last for years could make anyone stay in the fashion game. Following trends is a smart choice because trends come and go. One has to choose wisely what to adapt and on what to work on. For e.g. in my opinion, the retro styled shoes of Nike also known as “Air Jordans” are a huge turn off in 2020. Those shoes were good back in 2014, 2015.

Jeans and its Important Aspects

Another important factor is to let the dead trend go. Baggy jeans is one of an example which used to be in fashion in 2006 I guess? Channing Tatum aka Tyler Gage in Step Up (2006) had worn baggy jeans and it definitely looked terrible. Jeans became a symbol of youth rebellion during 1950s. Later, it became more acceptable in 1960s as a fashion street wear. In my opinion, every guy must own at-least 3 pair of jeans i.e. Light Wash Denim, it’s simply the best for summer and spring. Black jeans, its no brainer that black looks classy and makes you stand out of the crowd with overwhelming confidence and positive attitude. You can style black jeans to attend business formal meetings too. The last jeans which should definitely be in your closet is White jeans because it’s a colour of honesty, respect and self-orientation. My advice is to simply focus on fit. A jeans should hug your thighs, sits properly on hips with narrow bottoms.

Graphic Tees V Simple Tees

Wearing Graphic Tees is a missed opportunity in my opinion because the wearer has no idea what those Tees give out the message to the world. The world perceives the wearer as an “immature” person who’s still a pampered baby. You should emphasize on simple Tees and spend money on quality of the fabric that’ll last longer after couple of washes. I would suggest focus on fit and choosing the right colour. A pair of black, white and grey Tees would do the trick. However, step up your game and think about charcoal as well. A Tee should hug your shoulder blades, fits perfectly on arms and chest area.

Alternative of Jeans?

Chinos are an alternative of Jeans. You can opt for chinos to get a break from wearing denim. They are rather cooler and soft. The ideal goal should still be “focus on fit” while maintaining comfort. You can also mix and match them with coats and make your own custom suit.

Jogger Pants for casual street-wear?

Jogger pants lie in a category of modern fashion. Their design is primarily crafted to be worn outside the gym. You can wear and do daily errands without compromising your comfort level and your style. Don’t mix leggings with joggers. They both are different. Leggings are skin tight, flexible clothing, usually used during exercise by men and women. Joggers are an upgraded version of trousers. They’re focused on fit and they give pant-like feeling for the viewer.

Conclusion..

  • Upgrade old baggy Tees to v-necks and round neck that fits you properly.
  • Invest in quality and choosing the right colours.
  • Let go off your old denim with big cut bottoms and try investing in slim tapered or slim fit jeans with narrow bottoms. A very big NO to big bottoms.
  • Always “focus on fit”.
  • Avoid denim on denim, its a huge turn off. If you still want to wear than make a combination of light wash and dark wash.
